Last Thursday, we held our third Breakfast with Champions, this time featuring Kris Hall, Founder of The Burnt Chef Project. Guests had the chance to mingle over coffee and breakfast, before sitting down for a Q&A.
Kris talked us through the stages that lead to him developing the Burnt Chef project, and why it is more important now than ever before.
As hospitality has reopened post lockdown, the industry has been hit hard by staffing shortages. Whilst catastrophic to businesses, how much time have we put aside to check in with the staff currently working twice as hard to make up for the vacancies?
We all have a health and safety policy, we all know what to do if a chef cuts their finger or if there is a spillage on the floor. But how many of us know how to spot the signs of a member of the team struggling with their mental health, and where to signpost them to for help?
Would we still have a staffing crisis if the industry pulled together and supported all its members, and our work was championed in the same way it would be in another profession?
These are just a few of the important and thought-provoking points discussed in Thursday’s networking breakfast.
After the Q&A, guests had the chance to spruce up their LinkedIn with a new headshot taken by the Posh Cockney Productions team.
